In 2000, just 6 weeks after losing a baby to miscarriage, I became pregnant with a very special little girl. The pregnancy was rough, so rough I vowed never to have another child, and hoped and prayed this would be my little girl so I would have one boy and one girl…the ultimate nuclear family.
She was to be my first VBAC as well. On December 18, we took our 2.5 year old son out for chocolate chip pancakes, dropped him off at his Papa’s and headed to the hospital for an induction…9 days before our little one’s due date.
Labor was slow to progress and pushing took hours, but finally in the early morning hours of December 19, Megan entered our world…a beautiful, tiny (at least compared to my 8# 15oz 1st baby) bundle of beauty. I’d be a rich woman if I had a quarter for every nurse who told us she was the most beautiful baby in the nursery!
Megan is a very thoughtful child. She loves babies and animals. She’s a scrapbooker extraordinaire. She would give the shirt off her back if she thought you needed it. She sees treasure in trash and beauty in everything.

Megan & Grandma’s dog, Bailey.
She and her older brother are inseparable. Nearly 3 years and gender have never stopped these two from being best buds.

Here, Megan receives the royal treatment from her big brother.
Happy Birthday, Megan!
