My friend, “Kranberry216” at My Heart of Hope read my post on our Queen Bed and had pity on us. It just so happened that her parents had a nearly new King mattress and box springs for sale. We jumped on the chance even though we weren’t entirely for certain it would fit in our rather tiny master bedroom. A few weeks ago we picked up the bed and squeezed it into our room.
Then, came the moment of truth…we laid down in it. Just my husband and I. And the chasm between us was enormous! It wasn’t long before a couple of children realized we had space to spare. Yet, the bed remained big enough. Another child straggled in and still the bed fit us all. Eventually all seven of us were in the bed, and while I won’t say that it was big enough, there was a small piece of real estate for each of us.
Rarely is the bed this full, but baby does come to bed with us at some point in the night and there is plenty of room for this. Around 6am, we usually see one more child, but this addition is hardly noticeable.
It’s good to be king!

Well — that’s lovely! Hubby and I are sleeping in a full size bed, with baby, and, well, I don’t like to complain, but….:-)>>–moey

That’s awesome! We have a double pillowtop queen and barely fit my hubby, me, and the newborn since the edges are so squishy. >>Go co-sleeping!
