I Am the Proud Owner of My Very Own Domain!

It’s something I’ve tossed around for a while now, but didn’t understand well enough to do.  Finally, a few days ago, I took the leap and…

Got my own domain!

I wanted the .com, but someone (who isn’t using it, by the way) already owns it, so I “settled” for the .net.  I also had to learn a few things about CNAMEs and A NAMEs and all that jazz (yeah, I almost cried).  But, I figured it out just about midnight last night!

As you’ll see nothing changed and nothing is missing and you can still get here from the blogspot address.  But I’ll tell you what…it sure feels good to own my own piece of the internet!

So, *drumroll please*…

I am now officially residing at:

www.raisingarrows.net
(woo hoo!)

Don't miss a moment of Raising Arrows:

  1. Well how about that! I have my own too, but I have it forwarding to my blogspot. I’m wondering how you got your blog ON the domain without a forward. Okay – tutorial please.

By the way, can you send me the link on the disclaimer thingy you were telling me about?

    Thanks.

  2. Lynnette,
The domain is pointing to my blogspot blog (same as yours I believe). It’s just that I purchased a domain name and all that info now resides at raisingarrows.net as well. The blog can be accessed either through the domain or through blogspot.

For the disclosure info, click on my disclosure statement link (left sidebar right under the I Won! thingy. At the bottom is a link to the site where I created it and you can read the tweaks I made to it as well.

  3. Congratulations!

I love technology and the whole interwebz thing, but I get confused by HTML, CNAMEs and the like frequently. Great work!

  4. Isn’t it a fun change?! I loved getting my own domain – it was such a refreshing feeling to no longer have a blogspot address (maybe it’s the Type A personality in me?!).

    Congrats – I love it! :)

  5. I just started following you. I think your blog is such a beauty! I started blogging in October and would love to take the time to get such a cute fancy shmancy blog…just would rather hire someone than take the time to figure it out! Maybe one day!

Anyways… again… lovin’ your blog! :) Congrats on the domain name!

  6. That is awesome!! I just wanted to share with you that I absolutely love your blog … and I can clearly see why you won the award for inspiration. I look foward to spending many of my quiet moments here finding that inspiration…thank you!!
