I know everybody and their dog is Spring Cleaning right about now, but I have a different goal in mind and thought you might enjoy the ride (and possibly want to join in as well!)
I want to literally get rid of HALF MY STUFF!
Call it nesting. Call it spring cleaning. Call it insanity. But, I’ve had enough! You know FLYlady says you can’t organize clutter, and well, sad as I am to admit it…you can’t. So, in addition to my Revamp updates, I’ll be giving updates on how the de-stuffing is going.
So, set a goal, take some pics, lose the stuff, join me on Saturday and learn to be happy with less! Besides, we are all just pilgrims here. You won’t be taking any of it with you! Travel light!
See you on Saturday with hopefully less stuff than before! {and in the meantime, check out this post from years ago…it’s a great reminder and motivation!}

What a fantastic goal! Seriously. I live in a teeny tiny place so my husband and I have had to learn to be minimalists. It’s so great not to be able to buy things that we don’t need. Not only for our budget…but also for our mindset about “stuff”! I’ll be cheering you on!

Thanks! I’m going to need it! I figure if i just work w/ that goal in mind…whether I actually achieve it or not…I’ll have something to shoot for and focus on. I’m sometimes sorry I now live in a much bigger house. Oh, the days of being able to move using a horse trailer. 😉

That’s the truth! My husband says we could pack up in one day if we needed 🙂 Unfortunately, we are going to have to move to a slightly bigger place now that we’re growing our family. A one bedroom loft isn’t exactly family friendly! Family is definitely more important though!
PS…can we borrow your horse trailer when we sell our place? Ha! 🙂

I watched part of this hoarding show the other day and it had just that effect on me. Pregnancy always makes me want to reorganize, too. I was thinking of taking on one drawer per week this summer. That would take care of 12 of them anyway:) I definitely need to get rid of a bunch of my girls’ stuff. That will be a fun project. We’ll be shifting kids around before the baby comes anyway so might as well…

I’d love to have the encouragement to keep going! Post some pics! 🙂

I love that idea! There are so many ways to apply it, too. I’m a crafter, so it would be great to craft my way down to a stash half of its current size. I also buy way too much food on big sales and shove it in the chest freezer and pantry, so it would be AWESOME to cook my way down, with no grocery shopping for a while, to half my current food stores.

I’ve been thinking about my food (and my crafts) as well. I could really stand to give some away AND use some up! lol

I’ll be joining you this week, Amy.
I’ve concluded that the reason the house can’t stay clean for 5 minutes is that there is simply way too much stuff!
Our city wide garage sale is May 1 and I want a lot less clutter in my house by the time it’s over (and hopefully some extra $$’s for our trip over Mother’s Day Weekend;).
I did clothes 2 days ago and got rid of 5 garbage bags full. Sunday, I’ll be going through the house room by room and I’m hoping to start on the attic Monday morning. I’ll be cheering you on as I go!

Wonderful! It feels so good, but can get exhausting. You have a great goal to shoot for too!
