  1. Happy new year. I have really enjoyed you blog so far. I love reading about large family stuff. All of it. I have 4 boys so far, my husband is the 2nd oldest of 15 kids. We like big families.

  2. Good Morning Amy. I too love what you already blog! It’s timely, fresh and so encouraging to me?. I would like to know the books you read and the scriptures you cherish that get you through this season of you life as a homeschooling mom, wife and child of God. I am always looking for a good book or a passage of Scripture that someone is reading or has read and they have gleaned so much from.

  3. Hello Amy. As a mom, I went from one child to 4 in less than a years time. This was done through adoption and also another biological child. There ages are 6 months, 5, 7, and 7. I would like to see how you balance your time with your children. I feel like on most days I have failed at giving enough to the children. There is simply not enough of mommy to go around. I also am a teacher (public school -Kindergarten) and have a supportive husband!!!! Thanks! Crystal

  4. Hi Amy, I think I found your blog about a year ago or so and have loved it. I love everything you write about. Your topics are always great. I love your homeschooling topics because I’m still new at it. ;) large family living. I’m trying to live like a large family even though I only have 3 children. My heart is made for many more but my 3 are wonderful!! Anyway, I’m looking forward to another year with you and your blog!!

  5. I love hearing about family life for you guys! I am pregnant with my first but am utterly fascinated with large family life. Thanks for sharing your life with us!

  6. Ok. So…as a seasoned mommmy…how do YOU potty train?

I am going on 3 weeks of potty training my 28 month old daughter and any insight would be great!

Whatever you write about is always helpful. I especially enjoyed the post you recently wrote about family integrated church. A little over a year ago we were forced to leave a church due to our desire to have our children in church with us. That really stunk (especially since I had been attending there for 9 years). Soo, thanks for the encouragement in that post.

  7. You know me….anything on homeschooling. I would also like to see some posts about keeping your sanity while being home with the kids all day, activities your kids do at home, more reading suggestions….Hmmm…as I type this my 3 (out of 4 kids) are running wild from being cooped up in the frozen tundra that we call Minnesota. Driving me BONKERS ;)

  8. Hi Amy, long-time reader, first-time commenter… I would like to know your thoughts on weaning: when, how, if your experiences have changed through the years, if you co-sleep, if you night wean only at first, or sleep train infants, if it was hard for the toddler or was child-led, and most importantly, if you believe the timing has influenced your fertility/child spacing.

Wow, now that I see all my words spilled out, this could be a dicey topic. I certainly don’t want to open up a big hot debate on the age old mothering issues. Maybe you should ignore this comment! :) Sorry, I’m just curious. So far my weaning experiences have been hard on my children (15 months old, they were NOT happy).

Anyway, I love your blog and learn a lot from you. Thanks for taking the time to write it all for us.

  9. Yay! I have some topics that I would love to read about!

    1. How do you deal with sleep issues? As my families growing I feel exhausted with nursing a baby and having waking toddlers. I’m leery of them sharing a room too soon because I’m scared they would wake each other up! How do you do it? Do you sleep train your kids? Phew, that was long….can you tell I’m up in the middle of the night with a little one now?!

    2. How do you travel alone with the kids? I guess it’s more of a question when you have all littles. I have yet to venture out with my 4, 2 and newborn yet!

    3. Does your family attend any homeschool groups, music, swim lessons etc? And if so…how do you budget for all the kids?

    4. What is your stance on dating?

I love your blog and your positive view on family and mothering! You are like the friend I wish I had nearby to ask all these questions to!

  10. And one more…..

What was your family like as a child? Were you part of a large family? Is your extended family supportive of your decisions to have a large family, homeschool etc?

  11. I’d like to see something about the primacy of marriage and kindling and rekindling what God has built between husband and wife. I’ve been married 20 years and am seeing Christian marriages crumble and it is heartbreaking.

  12. I wouldn’t mind reading about little tricks and organizational type things you have learned to make things run more smoothly. Or shortcuts etc.

And thank you for your posts. I do enjoy them.

  13. Thanks for blogging, I always find something encouraging here. I’d love to hear more about making finances work with a big family. How do you stay afloat? Is it irresponsible financially if you/we have another child? (not our opinion but that’s what others may say). Not that we’re trying but ‘what if?’

And I second someone else’s suggestion of keeping your sanity especially when car-less.

  14. Amy, I just love your blog and reading what’s on your heart. I’d like to know your beliefs on discipline. My husband and I are have struggles right now, and I’d love to hear what works for you!!

  15. I love your thoughts on many subjects, but my favorite topic, which I could use a lot more on, is the way you communicate with your children!

The gift God has given you in the way you engage your children is precious. I tend to be more of a listener, and have a harder time initiating spontaneous moments of conversation!

    Have a blessed New Year!

  16. I’ve really enjoyed reading everything in your blog. I found you earlier this year. I am interested in weaning and nursing while pregnant, if you’ve done that. Also how do you deal with the exhaustion of having a baby and being pregnant and having youngsters. I’d also love to hear more about shopping with kids and communicating effectively. I have four children ages 6 to 10 months and am expecting our 5th in June.

  17. How you guys do vacations, even if it’s traveling to grandma’s for the weekend or a short camping trip. How long does it take for you to get started packing, who’s in charge of what, how to keep the kids happy in the car, snack ideas in the car, etc. I guess it’d just be “travel tips”
