This post isn’t terribly organizational, but it is terribly fun! Last year we started a new tradition in our family that the kids really, really enjoyed…
Making Gingerbread Houses!
Well, this year I heard about people making Gingerbread Nativities, so we thought we’d give that a try as well.
So, we gathered our supplies. You’ll notice we use graham crackers and not actual gingerbread…
Daddy had to taste test everything for us! 😉
Now, some people say to use something on the inside of your house to keep it from falling over. We just chose to use LOTS of frosting!
Once the children had constructed their stables, they began using candies to decorate it and also make the inhabitants of the stable…
After they finished their nativities, Blake decided to make a house too. It was so creative, I had to snap a photo of it! An A-frame with a balcony!
You can see from these photos, we’re not about perfection here. I ditched that notion several children ago. It’s about making memories and having fun without expectations and pretenses.

Now, it’s your turn! Your link doesn’t have to be about gingerbread houses! And you don’t even need to have a large family!

WOW! That looked like so much fun! I am wondering if they sale pre-cut Nativity Ginger Bread houses for sale, because I am not very crafty! LOL

Remember, even if it totally falls apart, the memories are worth it (and they are edible, so no worries!)

We have a LOT of leftover frosting from my trials to find the perfect buttercream icing, so I think we’ll have to try this soon!
