You shall fear the LORD your God; you shall serve Him and cling to Him, and you shall swear by His name. He is your praise and He is your God, who has done these great and awesome things for you which your eyes have seen.
Deut 10:20-21
My world feels a little crazy right now and I am clinging tightly.
But, I must admit, I’m also stressing about it all.
However, the other night as I was chatting with my blog designer, she mentioned how she had started a list of all the ways God has been faithful in her life throughout the years.
And it clicked.
That is what I need. A list to remind me of all the ways I’ve seen God work in my life over the years.
I’m no stranger to trials and because of that, I’m no stranger to God’s faithfulness. I’ve seen time and time again. Why do I so easily forget?
Today, I remember.
Weekends in the Word is a ministry of Raising Arrows meant to offer a time of worship and encouragement specifically for those mommies who find themselves, due to circumstances beyond their control, unable to attend worship services with other believers. However, all are welcome here each weekend to feast on His Word.

great reminder!!! and so true what ever we reflect on is what is magnified in our minds….when we reflect on the blessings and not the problems God’s goodness and faithfulness is magnified so greatly!
It’s so wonderful that you surround yourself with people who are going to put GREAT perspective on everything. Those are people rooted in the Word and will help to keep your eyes focused on Him. I thank your blog designer too for keeping us heading in the right direction and I thank you for sharing!
I was just thinking about this very thing this morning. God is so faithful and so loving. We just need to collect our “Jordan stones” to help us remember and to remember to tell our children and our children’s children (the 12 stones collected as the Israelites crossed the Jordan for a remembrance). I’ve found, at least in my life, that God sends littler trials first to prepare me for the bigger ones. That way I’ve seen his faithfulness, love and Him fulfilling His promises in my life before He asks me to trust in the big things!
Oh yes! Love the “Jordan stones!”
You probably already follow this blog, but I love the prompts and inspiration to “count your blessings” that Ann Voskamp does through her blog and book (100 Gifts) at http://www.aholyexperience.com
I have found great joy in mindfully writing down all the blessings and goodness that Lord provides.
My favorite time on your blog, scripture time! LOL, What a wonderful reminder, to sit back and remember the things that God has done for us all. I was just speaking to my husband on the phone, on how I like to go back and reread things that I have written and to be encourage on how Good God has been! Thank you for the reminder post. ( Deuteronomy is one my favorite books in the bible) God bless and have a wonderful weekend:) Your sister in Christ Jesus:)
God has reminded often over the last year of the Isrealites and how they kept forgetting their blessings and neglected to tell their children of the ways God had blessed and helped them. Dont just make a list, Amy–tell your children (often) of everything the Lord has done. They will have stories that will not only encourage them but that they can pass on to their children (in addition to the written stories). They may not have the list and how else would they know?
Thank you for sharing and letting us encourage you!
In Christ,
Holly
Holly, that is a wonderful idea to pass onto our children what God has done in our life`s ! I guess that is one reason why it is so important to teach our children the bible, as it to, reminds us of the goodness of God and to also share our own personal stories! Great Tip!”)
Agreed!
Thank you for this. Yesterday I was feeling rather sad about some upcoming changes and I thought I would visit your blog to see if Weekends in the Word had some direction for me
Thank you for sharing, it blessed my life and gave me some comfort and hope…..
I have a prayer list which I keep in a spiral binder. I pray for each person and request throughout the month and then begin again the next month with new and some old things. I also add in a praise when one of those requests are answered. Also in this notebook, I write down major things that happen in my life, like my brother’s death recently and all that God did during that time. It was really hard, but He helped me through reliving it during the writing. Also, I write down what I go through when I’m struggling with something. It’s like talking with someone, but easier for me.
