Week 33 – Baby Gets Ready, Mama Gets Bigger

Sometime this past week, baby turned head down.  While I can only hope and pray baby stays that way (my babies are not known for their love of the head down position), it was a happy thing to feel baby getting ready.

Looking at the photo above, I can see just how much my face is changing shape.  It is always such a slow progression as I swell into my late-in-pregnancy self that sometimes I do not notice it.  However, I am feeling my size.  I am so much slower than I was just a couple of weeks ago.  And the sickness that ran through the house last week really took a toll on me.

Yesterday, I had an OB appointment (always a welcome distraction).  Since I am not high risk, my OB is pretty lenient about how often I come in.  I won’t go in again until near Christmastime, but, after that, I’ll probably start in on weekly visits.  You always know you are on the downhill slide when that happens!

This pregnancy has had its fast moments and its slow moments.  Sometimes it is hard to believe I’m so close to delivery and other times 7 weeks feels light years away.  In many ways, being able to share weekly with all of you has made the time feel much faster!  Often, I find myself thinking, “It’s Friday again?”  So, thank you for sharing the journey with me!

  2. You look great :) I hope everyone is feeling well now!
I know what you mean about a pregnancy feeling fast and slow at the same time..when I’m uncomfy laying in bed, trying to get to sleep, it seems like it’s been forever. But really it’s flown by!

Here’s a pregnancy update I wrote early last week. I’ll be 35 week tomorrow!

Have a great weekend :) Thanks for your blog; it’s a blessing to me.

  3. You know, the only thing I could think of when I saw the ticker say baby was the size of a honeydew was, I hope it’s not the SHAPE of a honeydew, ouch. Blessings on your holiday season, may you enough energy to do what you need to do. :)

  4. I totally relate to the fast/slow thing… Sometimes in pregnancy, it feels like 20 weeks has been 20 months….yet I turn around and find myself staring 38 weeks in the face wonder where the time has gone! Especially when I have a baby due in the earlier part of the year (so far, 2 February babies and 1 April…and Lord willing, one March…plus a June and an August here with us)…I think the Christmas holidays make things to ever so much faster!! All little ones need to stay in place through the end of December though…mainly hers since ours like to move in for the long haul ;) ….looking forward to getting another picture of a trio of baby bellies at the end of the year when we come out for cheap tacos! :D

  5. You look absolutely beautiful and radiant! Congratulations on the new babe. May God bless you and your family. You are such an inspiration to me!

  6. I just gave birth to our 7th baby 2 weeks ago. My face was so much more swollen with this one! It is still puffy! O’well, it is so worth it to hold this sweet baby boy in my arms!! I am so excited to hear how your delivery goes. Your blog is such a blessing to me!! Thanks for sharing in the journey. I pray the Lord blesses you with an easy delivery, a healthy baby and a fast recovery!!

  7. Ooo, I see your christmas tree! So pretty! Now I want to put ours up! But we have to use heating a lot here, and it dries out the tree quickly. So we don’t put ours up until 2 weeks before Christmas. Then it hasn’t dropped too many needles before the 25th. After seeing yours twinkling behind you, maybe I’ll put up some garland and wreaths!

  8. I am glad you’ve shared this pregnancy with us. It has been great and I wish you well in the last 7 weeks. I’m 3 1/2 months away ’til baby 5 comes and sometimes I feel like time has flown by and other times I feel like I have forever to go! LOL Pregnancy is just like that.

  9. I have so loved hearing about your pregnancy!! I am only a few days behind you, so that makes it more fun :) And we seem to be going thru similar ailments..from morning sickness to this recent stomach virus, at the same time! I too hope these 7 weeks fly by, I can’t believe I’ll
have a new baby so soon :)
