Kansas City Homeschool Conference Giveaway!

mpe conference

Some of my family hanging out at the MPE Conference in Kansas City last year.

Midwest Parent Educator's Homeschool Conference
Last year, our family attended the Midwest Parent Educator’s Homeschool Conference in Kansas City.  This year, we’ll be going back and I’ll also be speaking on a panel with two other bloggers on the topic of using technology in your homeschool.  I’m excited about this particular panel because we won’t be talking about the typical technology you might think of when it comes to homeschooling…online curriculum and such.  We’ll be addressing unique ways to use technology, limitations to “screen time” for children, as well as taking questions from the audience.

I’m also anxious to meet Eric and Leslie Ludy.

eric-and-leslie-ludyA couple of years ago, I read The Bravehearted Gospel as part of a Christian homeschool mom’s book club.  It was wonderful, and I cannot wait to have him sign my book!  I’m also becoming familiar with Leslie’s ministry Set Apart Girl.  I believe this will prove to be an invaluable resource as my girls get older.

Also speaking at the conference is Brian and Betsy Ray.

brianBrian is the founder of the National Home Education Research Institute.  I’m sure he will be able to share with us many encouraging things about homeschooling that will help us hone our vision for our children.

The MPE Homeschool Conference starts Thursday, April 4 at 7 pm with a free and open to the public session presented by the Ludys at Emmanuel Baptist Church.  On Friday and Saturday, April 5-6, the main event will be held at the KCI Expo Center.

This conference also has some awesome vendors.  It’s always nice to have a good selection of vendors to choose from and be able to purchase most of your products right where you can thumb through pages and get answers and help from the publishers.  (You can see a list of vendors here.)

And here’s the exciting news…

This year, Midwest Parent Educators is graciously giving away

  1. I’ve been wanting to go to the MPE Conference for years. Unfortunately it was always the same weekend as a special meeting I was involved in at our church. There’s no conflict, and I’m looking forward to going this year!

  2. I’ve been dreaming of attending the Teach Them Diligently Conference in NE that you write about, but the cost of travel and hotel accommodations are making that a big challenge. Kansas City would be much easier! I may have to go just to hear the Ludy’s on Thursday! Thanks for letting us know about it!

  3. I started attending the MPE conference in 2006, when my oldest son was only 3 years old, in order to start browsing the vendor hall and learning what was what in the homeschooling world! Last year, I attended the “full” conference for the first time, listening to the speakers available, and was truly blessed and revitalized by what I gained! I’d love to be able to do experience that again! :)

  4. I’ve been thinking about homeschooling. I think God wants me to. I would like to go to a conference and see the choices in curricula before I commit anything. My oldest is the most rebellious. I can barely get him to do homework.

  5. I would love to win and attend the conference! I have wanted to go for the past two years but haven’t been able to afford it. I homeschool my 8 kiddos and am expecting again due in May.

  6. Free admission would be a huge blessing to our family as my husband is losing his job at the end of this week and money is about to get REALLY tight with no job prospects on the horizon at the moment. I wanted to go last year but was unable to do so. With our economic challenges, we need all the encouragement and support for homeschooling that we can get. Thank you for the opportunity!

  7. I would love it if I won. I haven’t been able to go to this one for quite a few years, but I always found it so encouraging when I was able to go!

  8. Would love to win this giveaway! We homeschool our three boys and I love to learn from other mommas who’ve “been there”!
