When I was pregnant my 3rd child, a friend kept hounding me about whether or not I was going to use cloth or disposable diapers with the new baby.  I kept putting her off because frankly, all my research had only led me to more confusion, and I wasn’t sure I was ready to commit to cloth diapering as confused as I was.  (I wish I had found a series like my Cloth Diapering Basics or an ebook like Confessions of a Cloth Diaper Convert to help me along!)

Finally, I told her I was going to use disposables.  A few weeks later, under the guise of taking me out shopping in a nearby city, she drove me instead to our church where she was hosting a diaper shower for me!

I am not usually easily surprised, but she got me that day.  I was so thrilled!  That baby shower netted me a year’s worth of diapers!

As my 3rd child neared 1 year, I was once again faced with the cloth diapering question.  I was pregnant again and the diapers from the shower were running out.  How was I going to afford 2 babies in diapers?  So, back to the internet I went in search of answers.

And that, my friends, is when our cloth diapering journey began.  That was over 8 years ago!

As I think back on that diaper shower, I wonder what it would have looked like had it been a CLOTH diaper shower.  How amazing would it have been to open package after package of colorful, soft diaper fluff, knowing it would NEVER run out?!

And can you imagine throwing a cloth diaper baby shower for one of your friends or family members?  What a tremendous blessing that would be!

A couple of years ago, I had a friend use the registry at Sweet Little Blessings to fulfill her cloth diapering dreams.  It was so much fun to shop for new fluff for her new baby!  I wasn’t able to attend her shower, but I was able to bless her just the same.  If you or someone you know is interested in cloth diapering (or already does cloth diaper), consider setting up a gift registry and having your own Cloth Diaper Baby Shower!

Today on Raising Arrows, we are going to have our own Cloth Diaper Baby Shower and a Giveaway from Sweet Little Blessings!

  1. Totally love cloth diapers! Last year was the year I decided to start. It’s actually been one year since starting this month. I won’t ever go back! I almost want to have another little one just to try my skills. lol I learned on our toddler before our little girl was born, but I was still extremely new to it all even when she was born. Now that I have a nice system I love it. I opt’d for seconds bum genius diapers. Perfect for my large children. 😉 Still, I would love to try the thirties. I never have tried their pockets before. Just the all in ones, which I ended up selling. Although they were SO nice. I wish they worked for us. :)

  2. What a great blog post and giveaway! We are expecting baby number 8 soon and have been using One Size AIO pocket diapers (cheap ones from China) for the past 3 little boys, would love to win and get a few girl colors (and name brand/better quality) for our new baby.

  3. We’ve been cloth diapering since baby one. My toddler is still in cloth diapers at night and we just had baby 3. I didn’t think I had enough decent covers left to handle two kids in diapers. I was so blessed at my baby shower when a friend gave me a bunch of handmedowns cloth diapers! Definitely one of the best baby shower gifts. :)

  4. Thank you so much for this giveaway! I really enjoyed actually being able to offer multiple entries as rafflecopters are usually facebook or twitter related and I don’t do either so thank you!!!
