I like food, but I am not a foodie. Sure, I love posting large family recipes and recipes of dishes that have become traditions in our family, but a food photographer and connoisseur I am not. However, I LOVE finding recipes on other people’s blogs. And yes, I do pin them to my Recipes board on Pinterest! And yes, I do actually make what I pin!
So, today’s Welcome Home Wednesday consists of some of the food-related links from last week. And because food posts MUST contain photos, every post linked here has a photo this week.
First up, is a great idea for using a crock pot on vacation from Practical Stewardship. This post is full of great ideas!
Next, is Sweet & Spicy Steak Stir-Fry from Love Bakes Good Cakes. All I have to say is YUMMY!
My oldest son is growing basil in the backyard, so this recipe for Almond Basil Pesto from Haley at Just the Little Things earned itself a pin to my Recipes board.
Stacy from Stacy Makes Cents has a great video tutorial on how to cook and use spaghetti squash. I personally love spaghetti squash because it has a nice, firm texture and tastes wonderful!
And then I spotted this Jicama-Carrot Slaw from Brown Thumb Mama (oh, how I can relate to that blog name!) that I can’t wait to try! Jicama is one of my favorite vegetables to eat raw, so this sounds like a treat.
None of us are gluten-free, but I have friends who are, so this recipe for Gluten Free Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies is for them! This recipe is courtesy of For Him and My Family.
And to top it off some fudge, simply because I like fudge! This Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge comes from Hope in Every Season and looks like quite the treat!

Wow, Amy! Thank you so much for featuring my Spaghetti Squash video! 🙂 I’m honored.
I love Pinterest for organizing my recipes. I put the ones there that I want to try – and as I try them, I delete them and import them into my Plan to Eat account….Pinterest is amazing!
Thanks for hosting!

Thanks for the feature! My mom asked me why I chose “Brown Thumb” instead of green and I reminded her that my gardening skills aren’t too great. She got a good laugh out of that!

Hey Amy, thanks for stopping by my blog. Its been slooooooowly undergoing changes. It’s hard when I can only fit so much time in, here and there, with 3 young kids. Anyways, this post regarding food had me wondering about your THM diet…..are you still doing it? How has it been going for you?
Amy says
THM is great for balancing blood sugars, but I don’t follow it to a tee.
