Andrea Smith says
Our church doesn’t recognize lent as it is not mentioned in the Bible, but I’m always open to deepening my faith and understanding.
Mrs. B says
It’s mentioned in the Bible. Try Matthew chapter 4. Should read,” And after fasting forty days and forty nights, He was hungry.” Lent is practiced to follow Our Lord’s example.(But, as a side note, Fat Tuesday has no bibical evidence. It’s just fun to eat cajun on that day.) Happy fasting, fellow fish eaters! 😉

For the record, we do do a lot of activities to celebrate Easter, but not Lent. Is this the same thing? Looking at the comments of others, I am wondering if I am confused as to what is meant by “Lenten season.” Going to research this more. And btw, this DVD looks amazing! Thanks so much for hosting. 🙂
Amy says
When I say Lenten season, I am talking about the weeks leading up to Easter. So yes, I believe we are talking about the same thing. 🙂

We’ve never done special projects before, but I hope to this year! Last year we had a Seder dinner upstairs in my boys’ room (the “upper room”), where we ate on the floor w/ pillows and a low table (and grape juice was spilled on the beige carpet…oops!). My kiddos loved it! This year I hope to add a devotional every morning leading up to Resurrection Day (Ann Voskamp has a free one on her website), and maybe some crafts as well. Thanks for the giveaway, and I look forward to seeing you at the Nashville TTD Conference in a few weeks!
Barb says
Crafts anytime of the year are a challenge for me. I love having something available to “jump start” our thinking. See the Light material is a good choice for art with the home schooled family

I hope this one entry will do the trick. I don’t have Facebook account or Tweet about anything. So, this is the only entry option for me. I am very interested in receiving this coupon for the prize. There is no better way to celebrate Easter by telling your children the REAL story of Easter.
