Thank you for your ideas. Just in case it helps anyone else looking for solutions, I wanted to say that our family of 12 has actually had very good success with hanging hammocks for children roughly 6 years old and older, they are cheap, and unlike mattresses and heavy beds, they are easy to wash, move around, and minimizes sheets / laundry (which is always helpful with so many people!) Even the pillows can be cut in half and hemmed and can then easily fit in the washing machine when necessary as well. We had 3 bunk beds packed into our largest room, with narrow walk spaces between, but it has been such a blessing to get rid of those bunks which were falling apart anyway, (we build a quail pen / Avery in the back garden with the wood) and bought a few heavy duty wall rings, and $20 lifetime warranted hammocks which fold up into a 6 sq. in. pocket which hangs from the wall ring out of the way, and the blankets, pillows, P.J.s etc can all fit into personal baskets / tubs on a shelf, an the room is totally cleared and easy to use for any and everything else during the day, we’ve found that chairs and folding desks, and lockers and loads of other things can easily fit against the walls and still be out of the way making the room very dual purpose for lots of people. There are a lot of health benefits to sleeping in hammocks as well, which you can look it up. Hope this helps or encourages someone else in need of a space solution! Be Blessed!

I don’t allow anything under the beds either! Too much dust accumulates there. So much easier to vacuum/dust mop a clean floor, versus pulling everything out, cleaning individual items, cleaning the floor, and then putting it all back. Just what works for us!

I love that! My grandma would be proud!
