Probably the #1 binder that gets used in my household is the School Binder. I have a quasi-office space set up in my living room, and behind the chair is a crate that contains school materials I need to have for quick and ready reference. This is where I keep my School Binder.
My School Binder is actually a very new addition to my little binder family. It was something suggested to me by a Sonlight mom. The Instructor Guides for Sonlight are large and cumbersome. Rather than use them as an every day reference, she suggested I move several weeks worth of tabs and schedule sheets into another smaller binder. I took it one step further and added in notebook paper for notes to myself, extra pages that list our other corporate work assignments for the week (things like Worldview and Logic), as well as anything extra I’m hoping to do with the children in the upcoming weeks. It is also where I house homeschool conference notes and agendas.
I must tell you, this binder is STRICTLY used for corporate school work, which translates to homeschool subjects *I* have to cover with the kids. Their individual work is not listed in this binder. Each child has an Assignment Binder of their own. My School Binder is really all about what I have to accomplish as a homeschool mom.

What a great idea! I think I’ll do that, too. I have some DVDs that I want to mix in with our history and of course there’s always science and math. We just do Sonlight’s core with LA so I like the idea of having all our assignments in one binder. And I’m not a binder person, but it sounds like a great way to get organized.

I do the same thing with my Tapestry of Grace binder. It sure makes things easier- to grab, to prepare, and even to carry! I am looking forward to doing more organizing with binders in other areas of my life as I read your blog!
