I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
Phil 4:12
I am learning to be hungry. To just be okay with being hungry.
This season often becomes a season of indulgence.
Overindulgence.
And yet, Christ became nothing,,,
to become the Bread of Life and the Living Water.
And for some reason we choose to overindulge on candy and cookies when we ought to be overindulging on Him.
So, I am learning to be hungry so that I might learn to be filled.
Weekends in the Word is a ministry of Raising Arrows meant to offer a time of worship and encouragement specifically for those mommies who find themselves, due to circumstances beyond their control, unable to attend worship services with other believers. However, all are welcome here each weekend to feast on His Word.

How wonderful that in this season of rampant overindulgence you have offered a suggestion of something that it is not only okay, but necessary, to indulge in!

Thank you for posting these insightful words! Overindulgence in the holidays is something my family has always just “done”. Part of the whole holiday thing. But you are so right. It keeps us from drawing closer to Christ during a time that should be all about Him. Thank again for bringing this to mind! Also, just wanted to thank you for your lovely and helpful blog. It is my first visit! I got the link from Jennifer Ross’ blog Renewing Housewives! : ). I will be sure to visit again for more ideas and advice. We are early in our baby raisin year, 3 babies under 2.5 years, in May. Every little bit of insight is tremendously helpful to us!
